The Influence of Storage Environment on Thermal Label

2024-07-30

The storage environment of thermal label has a significant impact on its shelf life and print quality.

1. Temperature

Suitable temperature: Thermal label is best stored in an environment of 23±2℃. Excessively high temperatures will accelerate the chemical reaction of the heat-sensitive coating, causing the writing to fade or become blurred.

Effect of high temperature: In a high temperature environment, the shelf life of thermal label will be significantly shortened. For example, in an environment with high temperature and high humidity, the shelf life may be shortened to less than 1 month.

2. Humidity

Suitable humidity: Keeping the relative humidity at RH65±5% is most beneficial to the preservation of thermal label. Humidity that is too high or too low can have adverse effects on heat-sensitive coatings.

Moisture-proof measures: In order to prevent the impact of moisture on heat-sensitive label paper, it is recommended to use moisture-proof paper or film for packaging and sealing to prevent moisture intrusion.

3. Lighting

Avoid direct sunlight: Ultraviolet rays in sunlight will accelerate the aging process of the heat-sensitive coating, causing the writing to fade. Therefore, thermal label should avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or UV rays.

Light control: In the storage environment, light exposure should be minimized, or measures such as blackout curtains should be used to reduce light intensity.

4. Other factors

Friction and pressure: Thermal label should be protected from friction and pressure during storage to prevent damage to the coating or blurred writing.

Chemical Substances: Avoid contact with chemicals such as organic solvents, which may cause damage to heat-sensitive coatings.
